So the problem I have is that when I play Trackmania 2, I pick a server from the list and the game loads but as soon as I try to press any key to continue it crashes. It happens everytime and is easily reproducible. I can use the editor to create a track but as soon as I try to test race it, the game crashes. My guess is the crash has something to do with the racing part of the game which sucks.


I looked in my Trackmania files and it doesn't leave me a crash file like the sticked support posts said so I can't post that here.


Here are my computer specs:

Hardware: ACER M1201 from about 3 years ago
-AMD Athlon 4400+ dual core CPU (2.3 GHz)
-Radeon 2100 integrated graphics (263 mb)
-AMD 740G chipset
-2 GB of DDR2 RAM

System: Windows Vista, I am the only user account, and I am the admin.

Network: DSL (Speedtest.net result

Browser: Latest version of Firefox

Security Software: Bell Internet firewall antivirus, as well as Microsoft Security Essentials doing scans occasionally

Trackmania 2 settings: Everything as low as can be



If anyone needs more info, just ask. I'm sure my problem could be that my computers specs are too low even though they appear to meet the needs of the System requirements on the Trackmania 2 site. I organized my post nicely too so hope that helps someone.

I think you don't have the minimum specifications for the graphic card.

You need a graphic card with 256 Mb, Pixel Shader 2.0 / Intel HD 2000 / Nvidia ION / AMD HD 6310

My graphics card has 263 mb and pixel shader 2.0. The weird thing is, I can edit a map, place parts, etc, it is only when I race that it crashes and those are the same graphics. So I don't think it is my graphics card but could be.

Can you try use a widget for the graphic card and see if the video memory up to 100% just before crash?

I tried the widget but it didn't appear to work. Most likely it wasn't compatible with my graphics. Everything just said 0. 0 degrees, 0 mhz, 0%, etc.

Also there is no crashlog. I looked in my documents as well as where I installed my files and it had no crash file. Sorry :/

No.

I should also note I installed my files in a different folder than the default one. There is nothing maniaplanet related in Documents. As for the area where I installed to, I still can't find any logs after the crash.

EDIT: I finally found the crash report. Where can I upload it? It is too long to fit in a post it says.

I see shader compilation error, I think your graphic card is very just. Try to put the game in minimal and try to up AGP in Compatibility in the Launcher.
