Skinning question for GIMPers:

Post by Trackmaniack »

Hey everybody, Trackmaniack here with a question about GIMP: Can you make adjustments to the "Text along path" command? I'll elaborate: Say I have a path that I made, and I want my text to sit along that path. Well, what I discovered is that, instead of placing your text -inside- the semi-box made by the path, it places it along the path starting with the first point. I -guess- this is logical now that I think about it, but is there any way to adjust this? Like say slide the text along the path until it's where you want it? And then, is it possible to, instead of having a ghostly outline of text along the path, have it be the actual text?

All right--so that question didn't net any hits...so how about this one? When I resize just about anything in GIMP, beyond a certain point, it turns into a mushy mess when it gets too small. I know why it's doing this--Antialiasing. My question is, how can I stop it? Especially because you all are making such pretty HD skins on Maniapark, and when I deal with small stickers in GIMP, it just looks...bad :-?

that's probably because they are using vector gfx for it.
as for the resizing pixelbased gfx you dont really have many options and i dont even know how gimp handles it, but in PS you got several options on how the program actually antialiases down to the point to dont use any AA at all, so you get a very pixely clean cut picture. but still, resizing always comes with a price. vector is the way to go there, especially if you're working with logos.

:( Great. So I may as well just use the in-game painter... :P Which actually might be easier given the nature of my skins--
