Car damage question

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new, so sorry if this falls into the wrong category.

I was thinking of cutting some footage together from my replays, but I'm seriously annoyed by the damaged model of the car and the dirt that comes up. Does anybody have a model that doesn't get wrecked and dirty (or any way how I could turn this option off in the game/or in replays)?

Thanks in advance.
Mino

At the moment, the default CanyonCar is having a damaged version at all graphical levels, the models at Maniapark have damage, too.

Solutions would be living with a bit of dirt on your car and driving better

That doesn't excuse why having a pseudo damage system which will make any car look like crap after the first crash. Yeah well, if I want to try to keep my car without a crash, I play FORMULA 1 or some like that. At least there when I do have a crash, my car also reacts like I had one, afterwards.

In a Game where collision with other cars isn't possible, which is what makes TM special since it came out, it is absolute bullshit (pardon my speach) to have a damage system that only does one thing. And thats making my fancy car model/paintjob look like crap after the first crash.

Why having such nice car Models/Skins when after the first crash I don't see that anymore but the car looks like a garbage can ?

So many things in TM2 were changed compared to the old Game that don't make any sense for this kinda Game. Things removed that made TrackMANIA "mania" & "crazy". Why all that ?

Oooooooaaaaaah...
get a model of this car that is undamageable, make the damage textures blank, voilà! No damage.

Take a look there, there they are discussing a possible On/Off button

Thank you for the link, I'll check it out. Please understand that with a game such as this I really don't want to bother myself digging in the source files, I honestly think the problem could be solved by a simple on/off switch from the side of the game creators, just as somebody else has mentioned. I don't understand neither why this was not included in the first place.
