Need help with creating and using a map pack

So, some of us have created some tracks and we want to stick them on our website for download.
I notice there's a "Manage Pack" option in the editors. So I fill out a name and description, and add some tracks to it. I click create.... and now what?
There's a .Gbx file been created in the "Packs" directory of my documents, but I can't seem to access the pack in-game (ie nothing in the "play single map" UI seems to let me select it)
The map pack has appeared in player.maniaplanet.com under "ManiaCredits", bit I don't have a freaking clue what a ManiaCredit is, and there's no help on that site at all.
In fact, there's a distinct lack of documentation in general. The whole packs option isn't mentioned in the manual, for example, and I don't have a scoobies what the hell a manialink is, even though the term gets thrown around all the time :/
