Creating Arbitrary Blocks?

So, it's out now. Does anyone know whether it's possible to make blocks with arbitrary geometry? Terraforming doesn't count.

Custom blocks have been put on the backburner for now. This was announced some months ago by Hylis. We'll have to see if someday they implement it. For now it's not available though.

Thanks for the info. Until then or someone finds out how to modify block data, TM2 is completely useless in my eyes. So sad, but I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up about, well, the apparently biggest sequel.

I've been playing for three months and I'm confident there's a lot possible with the existing blocks. I see new transitions and ideas from people nearly every day. There's really no need for custom blocks right away. I'm sure the game could benefit from custom blocks when things start to get a little stale... sometime down the road. But right now, there's plenty to keep us busy with the existing ones. I guess I'm totally looking at it from the standpoint of a track builder though. Modelers were probably really looking forward to it.

What I want from the track editor (and there won't be a better way than making custom blocks) is the ability to make a continuous track with changing curve, slope, and twist to make a smooth ride anywhere. That's way beyond what this silly Lego limitation will allow with the given blocks. Like I say, I hope they can set their sights higher, because TM2's editor is the closest to what I've been looking for. I want a 3D line rider, basically.

They really should do/have done this with TMUF instead. One enviro doesn't deserve all the track editor block customization.

There will be three environments for TM2... plus three in ShootMania, and three in QuestMania. There's a lot in store for us with ManiaPlanet.
