Can someone explain the various styles like speed, tech, LOL, etc? (I've tried searching for these but the terms are too common.)

Fullspeed = The whole track is noslide and very fast. You will most likely never need to tab the brake.
Tech = The track has many different kind of turns which need to be taken in a really smooth way to get a fast time. You will need to drift in most curves and sometimes even slow down to take the turn. They are usually a lot more challenging to get a clean run and the average speed is rather slow.
LOL = A short track (<30sek) which often needs some luck to get a really good time. Often there is a special trick (stunt) involved to get the fastest times.
Trial = A long and very hard track. After each CP there is one or more obstacles you have to overcome to get to the next one. You will most likely need several tries to get from one CP to the next.
RPG = Similiar to trial there are obstacles between the CPs but usually they are easier but it will be more difficult to find out where you have to go. The tracks are very scenery heavy which might cause your FPS to drop.
Speedtech = A new type born in Canyon which is supposed to describe a fast tech track. In the end it usually is just a normal race track

Nice description, although you are wrong about Speedtech. Speedtech is not new. It was also a style in TM1, and actually quite similar to Canyon in TMNF in that you had long fast drifts through varied sections.

Keras, you're wrong about fullspeed. Often there are slides/drifts, caused by drops or jumps or tricks instead of braking

I don't think anyone would argue that Tiger Blood is fullspeed, and it has that offroad drift at the end.
Canyon challenges our perception of what a track style is at every turn.
For myself, I try not to worry about labels and simply make something I enjoy driving. What you call a map is of lesser importance to how it actually feels to drive it... and if its competitive and fun.

The question was already answered before I said that. Stop taking things out of context meto, please.
