I cannot find any servers with people on it?

The older versions seem to have more people.

Dead is the wrong word to use,it normally has 450-600 players on normal days, and more then that in weekends. It is less then TMN/TMU,but remember that TMN is free,so it naturally has more users, and TM2 is still growing. Also you cant expect to find that many people 1:30 at night :D

You need to switch the region to world. For some reason the region always is your local region when you start playing.

Yeah, it's pretty much dead. Many people like me are playing TM1 again, because it's more fun.

Don't whine :thx:
It was the same when TM was brand new in 2003. There was only Desert, not many servers, not many players.
And later when TMN(F) arrived and the FreeZone stuff was openend, many pure TMU(F) servers were left or closed and there some people claimed TMUF was dead. Is it? Nope.

TM Canyon is not really less fun, it is only one more new environment for which many more maps have to be created.
With more new environments released (Valley in ~1 year and the next in ~2 years), there will be more diversion and more choice, and thus more players.
The only pity is that maniaplanet is that much incompatible to the old TM system that exactly these old environments could not be kept, so you can't drive all environments in the same game engine.

To call such a game already dead that just came out is certainly the wrong word.
TM is a special kind of game that not all gamers want to play so it needs more time to establish.

This is why the comparison of Canyon with a set of all TMUF environments is not very valid at this time.
Just be patient, give maniaplanet some time to be properly established, and then we can compare TM with maniaplanet ;)

Ya know, it's funny, chat rooms experience the same phenomenon. You could have 100 people all sitting around wanting to chat, but they won't go into the chat room because "there's nobody in there." (Well, duh!)

Back in the days of Pod's "game service" Ubi had employees racing on the server all the time so that never happened. Now you go to Ubi's "beginner" server and they have difficult maps in their playlist for some reason.

Right now there's 26 people on some fullspeed server, 11 on Ubisoft USA/Canada, 8 on "competitive racers" and 4 on "let's rock." I'm not sure how many thousands of players you wanted/expected on the same server.

I have seen up to 80+ on "Cos Fullspeed" many times, and also on several other servers. another thing is that the number of players online greatly increases on weekends and also depends on the time. the game is by no means dead.

this is such an optimistic thought.
anyway ive seen even 120 players on cos and like 80 players on very shorts(i think) but that was like a month an half ago and we speak about like 2 servers. nowadays the numbers decreased so much. i mean i love the game but nadeo gotta do something, releasing some new blocks, skins, dunno i see less and less players everyday :|
i think that the biggest fault of this game is that it lacks a free to play version like TMNU, with that u can bring a lot of people into playing and why not even more people will buy the game. my two cents.

You are checking at 5am, so what do you expect ;)

ATC server got to 91 a short while ago and get over 50 (like Very Short, Cos Fullspeed, Mini LooooL etc) nearky every day.
