STUCK on low-res textures.

I've browsed the internet for a solution, with none found I've decided one last ditch effort to solve this problem.

I built a gaming computer a few months ago, and when released this game was working flawlessly. Ever since I have updated my video drivers a few times, my textures are ALWAYS stuck on low resolution, despite the fact that I have them set on high AND also have the HD option checked.

My video card is an XFX 6870, and I regularly check for driver updates. I have no idea who else to ask other than people who are regularly used to working with models and textures. I'm desperate to get this game looking as beautiful as it should again. PLEASE HELP!

Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hi!
Make sure that, in the launcher, Texture quality is High and the Max filtering is as high as possible.
If the textures still are low-res I suggest un- and reinstalling the game.

Possibly your video card settings are bad, e.g. some excessive filtering or undesired additional effect.

Do you have any game that has good textures?
Did you try OpenGL or DirectX demos? E.g. from nVidia or Ati developper pages?

I just uninstalled the game, EVERYTHING. After restarting, I reinstalled and updated, and everything is still stuck on low quality textures. Yes, all of my other games work perfectly. I run Battlefield 3 at about 90 fps maxed out on average.

Can you please explain your suggestions in a little more detail? I'm not sure how to change video modes, and as far as drivers go i'm just using the standard ones released by AMD/ATI.

I just ran a few different benchmarks in the game. When maxed out I get about 45 fps, and it still has low quality textures. But when I turn it to medium, even though it looks the same, I get about 70 fps. The GPU is obviously still doing the necessary work in order to apply the quality changes, but for some reason I can't see them. I'm really confused and disappointed.

close maniaplanet, delete the default.config.gbx and start it again.
then first go to the advanced settings and check them.
maniaplanet automatically detects the probably best suitable settings.
did you add maniaplanet.exe to your video card driver profile manager?

can you please post a screenshot of your problem ingame?
