Shadow calculation time.

Allthough it's probably due to the fact that im playing on minimum settings on my laptop, is there any way to improve shadow calculation time? Calculating HQ shadows on a 1850cc map just took 3 hours here, and i've got several shorties on my pc waiting to be calculated - which is (i hope at least) probably not the time it was designed to take.
Anyone have suggestions?

The shadow calculation time is massively influenced by the mood and the amount of elements on the track that emit light

3 hours? That's crazy!
I had a night track with 4 minute lap times that took 6 minutes once and I thought that was a long time.

Did you change something in the advanced video settings, compatibility?
Lightmap quality ultra checked might dramatically increase rendering time.
On my i7-970 desktop CPU, your map compiles in less than 1 minute with high quality,
and in ~3 minutes with ultra quality checked.
Perhaps your laptops energy management and performance settings are not optimal.
If you have Windows 7 you can modify them.
Or do you have some performance and energy management tool from your laptop's manufacturer?

I've got everything on the lowest settings possible.
Did some tweaking in my gfx control on laptop and managed to boost fps from 15 to 22ish though, maybe calculation time is boosted as well, will see when calculating next shadows.
Edit: Well, has improved, but 80 minutes for a 1minute cupmap (3019 planets) is still to much i'd say. Any suggestions?
