The death of ManiaRecords

I'm was very sad to see this a few weeks back, and had to switch my server back to dedi. well sorry Dedi it's just not as good as MR was... your server lags up to 1 mins, sometime just times out. I'm not really impressed with dedimania as it stands. ManiaRecords rocked for that matter.

Bring back MR !! It's was great :3

And for the argument.. why have 2 systems ...? why not !! we have numerous FAST, Xaseco and others .. there is no reason not to have two world ranking record systems.. you can always sync once every 3 months.

Dedimania > ManiaRecords
At least this is my opinion :D

But either way. One system is better than two. It doesn't matter which one.

In my opinion the resources of both teams should collaborate to make a single best world record system. Dedimania should be the name since it is the oldest and most recognized. I think most people liked the interface of the MR site better though. But Dedimania has some nice anticheat tools that they've incorporated for TM2, and they've always worked very hard to keep the system fair.

It's not really our choice which one stays up. The MR guys decided to close, and now we have to move on. They did a phenomenal job setting it up in a very short time.... and it was really useful at a time when Dedimania was not yet available for TM2.

If you want Dedimania to improve/get faster, donate.

When we would have two different worldrecord systems, which one would hold the real world records?

I tell you why not. Have you ever seen a server with xaseco and FAST installed at the same time?

Yeah one record system makes sense. The problem is the congestion, that's my main issue.

And who in their right mind would want to run dedi and WR on the same server... lool, that would be crazy :o

Besides I have an AMD system and you may have an Intel , they both do the same , but if one didn't exist you would have still be running a 486 at a cost of zillion of dollars.

That does make sence indeed. Not to mention never recorded worldrecs etc...

I've seen plenty of servers running both dedi and WR. Like if there isn't enough bollocks running through the chat window allready. :(

Dedimania definately much better & also 1 record system:

-So you can see the real records
-Maniarecord, when equalling, you get bugs in the records (just an exemple)
