[B3.1] Engine bug

Post by Zell »

I'm getting the exact same bug on TM2 Stadium that I have on TM2 Canyon - the engine sound doesn't work always. Sometimes only in the middle of a lap does it start playing, meaning I'm driving without an engine before that I guess.

I reported this before for Canyon. I guess if this isn't fixed I won't buy Stadium or Valley as it's quite an annoyance, and one of the reasons I don't play Canyon at all.

I have the same problem, and noticed many complaints at server also.
I don't remember Canyon had that problem when it was launched in 2011., so how did you manage to break a working thing and still not fix it ? :-| Also, the engine sound is waaay too quiet compared to the other ingame sounds, especially comparing it to TMNF engine sound.
I'm not impressed at all, I tried to come back to Canyon few days ago after a long pause, but with these huge sound problems also appearing in new Stadium now also, I don't see that coming so soon.

I have a similar problem with the engine sound: i have made a custom engine sound, that are not to hear immediately and i hear the default engine sound. After some map changes (sometimes 2-3 or 5-7, totally different) in multiplayer or singleplayer, then the custom sounds are to hear (so it works, but not immediately).

Btw.: This was already in B2.x (there i added my custom engine sound).

I also experienced this kind of problem with tm2 stadium. Engine sound is living it's own life.
Very annoying.

I have the same problem, the engine sound suddenly stops and randomly continues to work. No custom engine sounds here.

Same problem here as post 1. Using a Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium on Windows 8 x64 with latest drivers. Speaker setup is 5.1.

I noticed it in the Stadium beta but having gone back to Canyon it has the same issue. It certainly used to work fine in Canyon but I'm not sure when it broke as I hadn't played the game for a while before Steam and Stadium brought me back to the series.

For me engine noise sometimes disappears, but I've only noticed it when my wheels are squealing from slides this far.

I usually rely on engine noise to know if I brushed a wall or got away with it, so I should have noticed if it happened at other times as well.

Btw try it with setting the sound quality to medium. Usually solves the problem. Half-solution but smth.
