I'd rather replace the word "fear" by "hope"

It's interesting, true, but when did a rabbid have a place in a Nadeo game? Sure, Ubisoft's their parent company, but what -positive- influence have we seen other than them branding their logo over Maniaplanet's and now putting rabbids into the game? I'm excited to get "back in the game", so to speak, now that I see Maniaplanet's not dead, the US website of TM.com has finally been updated, and there's activity on all hubs of Maniaplanet now, but I even called Nadeo out on this, why did you join Ubi? They smoke-screened me with a non-reply. :-? I love Nadeo, and if Ubi's what's keeping them in business, great. I'm just saying I haven't seen it.

Well I would kind of suggest that it might give Nadeo more presence in the world maybe, such as at E3 when they can be at Ubi's Press Show and for a game like Trackmania to be in the same 1 hour show as Far Cry 3 and things, that is a big achievement i'd say.

PLus, i'm sure Ubisoft maybe can support Nadeo financially if ever needed. Really, Ubisoft seem to need them more, like here:

"The acquisition of Nadeo is an important step in our expansion within the online gaming sector," said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer of Ubisoft. "Through Nadeo, Ubisoft will gain an expert team, one of the best online technologies around as well as a flagship multiplayer game that enjoys an unrivalled reputation among a loyal and committed community. We are excited about the idea of introducing TrackMania to an ever-wider audience and sharing the expertise of Nadeo's teams with our company's other developers.”

Either way, Ubisoft are one of my favourite game companies and I am happy that Nadeo joined them.

Its funny, I always see Ubi as a massive company that causally just got Nadeo under their arms to get a little extra cash, wrong thinking though. It would be interesting to see what really went on behind the scenes, but I guess that wont happen. Stuff like how much support does Ubi give Nadeo, an extensive list of reasons why they paird up in the first place and so on.

There was an old post here on MP forums where Hylis explained that ManiaPlanet was shopped around to different publishers in 2009, but Ubisoft were the ones that took an interest in it and ended up acquiring Nadeo because of Nadeo's vision for this new platform. I'd try to find it, but that's a lot of old posts to look through. :?

To make it short, Nadeo went into a Nadeo II phase with Maniaplanet. It was like a new step for us, that makes up raise for the satisfaction of doing so. While making this step, it happened that it was easier if everything was done in a single company. Otherwise, you are dependant of others somehow. Ubisoft brought Nadeo Live, and if you see everything that is done, you shall see that it is a truely great addition: we went to GA, E3, Gamescom, PGW. The store and website have evolved (connect to http://player.maniaplanet.com to see it!) New concepts are developed like the calendar, the groups messages, ManiaLive, ManiaPub, ManiaHost, ManiaPress etc. There is support to LAN, and looking more to US (even if there is always more to do) Trailers are more numerous thanks to Sprint! A whole new campaign is arriving. And, off course, this is just the beginning. So, the publishing is truely modern in my eyes and the support of Ubisoft in strong in that direction. Many games are ship and forget. Now, we have continuous support of one of the biggest publisher in the world, based in Paris and with a founder that is #1 in my oppinion. There are legimate critics toward the group sometimes, but there are also for many things that are big. It is like in our own games and we can not do everything perfect, or we would do nothing. We just try our best with passion, and the group is supporting us a lot in that way. They gave us a renewed ambition and I believe that Maniaplanet is partly due to their creative spirit they are knowned for.

Please elaborate.
I'm not sure if you mean what I think you mean; in fact I have no idea what I think you mean.
Do you mean a new in-game track series for Canyon, or a campaign as in the way Nadeo is working on Maniaplanet, or something else? I get the feeling that wishful thinkers might misunderstand what you mean if they just take that statement, buried in a wall of text, totally out of context (quoted out of context in another thread maybe).

Campaign means track campaign. (i.e. StarTrack, Canyon Solo Campaign, TMUF Stunt Campaign, TMNF Solo Campaign.)

It's a set of tracks that are progressive and usually feature some theme. Some users have made their own campaigns as well.
