No, it is rather a new plattform which will combine all new games, starting with TrackMania² Canyon and ShootMania Storm. So if you like Canyon, you can buy it (this will make no difference with respect to ManiaPlanet V2.0).

Maniaplanet 2.x is not on itself, just update it when its released

MP2.0 will not change much on Canyon. Perhaps we will see minor updates, but Nadeo is concentrating on ShootMania at the moment.
