Creating a server issues

Post by skalamanga »

Hi guys,

I'm not a noob to TM or PC's and I've read all the tutorials on creating a server so please don't direct me to a tutorial or an FAQ. This is a genuine issue I can't resolve and this is a last ditch effort to get some much needed help.

I tried to sart a server yesterday using the server in a box app which worked liked a treat. Went through all the steps and the server showed up and was running but for some reason my NAT configuration was wrong. I just kept getting the cannot contact server error. Seriously I tried a ton of different IPs in the three new pot forwarding things I created. Port 2350 3450 and 5000 for one of the plugins and none worked.

Some of the tutorials said to leave the IP slot blank but I can't because the router I have gives me an error saying invalid IP format. So I have to put an iP in that slot for all new port forwarding slots. 0.0.0.0.0 doesn't work either. So that is my issue. What IP do put in that slot?

I tried using the IP in the error message and that didn't work. I've opened all the ports in TCP and UDP in windows firewall for maniaplanet as well and still no joy. Then I noticed that the server in a box app is set to open ports 2351 - 2359 , 3451 - 3459 and the plug in is 5001 - 5009. Is that something I need to change or fix or leave?

The router is a zyxel p660hw v3 if anyone feels that's relevant. I've already gone to portforwarding.com and followed the step by step nat configuration guide but it didn't work. So at this point I'm totally lost and am probably just over looking something simple but I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help

I found it so hard to pass these port fowarding problems, that I prefered to rent a server on trackmaniaserver.org. I think it´s worth it if you really want to have a server, it will be on 24hs with better connection and not having to open your pc to others.

Well I think I figured out the problem. Apparently I was overlooking something after all. I have to create an account on something called remote cp. It comes up when you click local host. That is the web server at port 2351. But the only problem is it won't let me log in. After I registered it said this account needs to be activated. A day later and it hasn't been activated.

Hopefully someone knows how to get the remote cp account activated? Thanks again
