I didnt ask for an beta , I asked for an open beta, but yeah I understand what you mean

It's not decided yet, whether it'll be an open or a closed beta.
The only news about the beta was this here (which was posted on page 10 of this thread, so please keep this order here: FIRST read, THEN ask)

we have re designed the beta plan this week

at the moment (things can change) we expect to do a progressive closed beta and no open beta
it means that few people will be invited first (no rules and numbers made yet) and then will grow this number (new direct invitation and invitations given to first testers)

thank you for your support, it is really making us uncomfortable to have this late release. Each time, I tell myself: just few months left and they will start the new adventure!

What you are most probably refering to is this post here (which was, oh wonder, also posted in this thread.To be precise on page 17)

I can give you the current dates, but they may change for major reasons

At the moment, the news can start in March and the latest it can start is April. I am trying to make everybody ready for the new adventure of maniaplanet, and it takes a lot of time.

Maniastudio is waiting for new people and even desks to be installed in the new offices, opening end of Febuary. It was supposed to be ready for 1st of Febuary, but there is always delay coming from nowhere stacking up.

So, it should be a pretty calm situation in Febuary. Happily, it is the shortest month

I said that we speak of when we begin to give more info, including probably the first images. In any case, I strongly hope its in the end of April.

In short, within two months, we will be on the starting maniaplanet, and that's cool!

I don't think so. First of all, there have ALWAYS been a beta/release date. For instance, we though that the beta would be released on January. Is it released? No! And now we think that there will be a new trailer in March. Will there be? Well, we don't know yet, but if there won't we will probably start with a new date like "Hmm... I guess there will be a trailer in June then..." and so on.

Bottom line, whenever someone say there will be something new, don't trust them! Don't even trust yourself.

I'm sorry but... That's pessimistic behaviour. Always believe its gonna come out tomorrow, otherwise you end up committing suicide, and we dont want that happening, do we?
