Re: Information regarding the Beta!
I thought we could play this game for free 7 days and after it pay 20 euros if wanted to extend betatesting.. I haven't got any email from Nadeo so i guess the beta signup was useless(?)
Re: Information regarding the Beta!
The anwser to that is:
Alinoa wrote:Actually the beta should start very soon. However only alpha testers are going to test it first and then players having signed up for the beta will be able to join the beta too

Quote from the Shootmania Facebook page-
The first wave of beta invites is currently sent. The invites are sent by chronological order from when you have been registered for the beta.
It'll take few more hours to send all the invites planned.
Note that this is the first wave, more invites will be sent the next days/weeks
Welcome to ManiaPlanet for the newcomers!

Re: Information regarding the Beta!
I got a key too, but I can't play for at least two weeks (graphics card issues atm, vacation in a week).. :/ Anyway, the installation steps kinda surprised me. I thought we could just activate the title from the ingame system - after all, it IS available there with some sort of a key. That would be a bit simpler in my opinion. Why does it not work that way? Does the system not support limited time passes there?

Re: Information regarding the Beta!
tbh I think you can just activate it in-game... first "buy" SM with the code provided, then you'll get a key via e-mail. load SM title in maniaplanet (is it available for loading there btw?), double-click, when asked for key enter the one you've got.MPeti wrote:I got a key too, but I can't play for at least two weeks (graphics card issues atm, vacation in a week).. :/ Anyway, the installation steps kinda surprised me. This system is to test how the server load on the online webpage is when a huge amount of people try to enter it mostly simultaneous (at least this is my assumption). You might remember that in TM2, it went down for a short time when it was released.MPeti wrote:I thought we could just activate the title from the ingame system - after all, it IS available there with some sort of a key. If you got a key already, I'm pretty sure you can simply add a title ingame. Worked fine during a test in the alpha.
Re: Information regarding the Beta!
I'm an existing Canyon player, so this was my process.
I downloaded the full installer for MP2.0 Canyon (here) (which includes the Canyon title). And then I installed it over my existing copy of Canyon.
I used the redemption code that I received in an email for ShootMania Storm Beta to redeem my 7 Day Pass (key) on the website that was provided in the email.
Then ingame I moved the menu over to an empty Station, clicked on one and loaded the Storm Title.
It asked for a key. I gave it my 7 Day Pass that I received in the second email I received.
Wait for Storm to download...
Play!
Loading Joust and Elite into Stations was the same thing (click on an empty Station to load a Title), except once Storm is loaded then you don't need a key for those.
I hope this helps some people.
-- The main differences for new players to the ManiaPlanet platform is that they will get the installer for MP2.0 from the second email they received, since it doesn't include Canyon preloaded, which they don't need for this Beta.
-- The second thing is that they will have to create a new account when they first open ManiaPlanet.
-- Even players who played ShootMania Storm in the Alpha (but did not own Canyon previously) will also have to create new accounts for the Beta.
