At least until yesterday it was wrong : i was able on my dedicated created with my 2nd and 3rd Canyon accounts to lauch Storm dedicated (but strangely not Elite, Heroes and Joust ones). We need to have other Title installed to launch a server on these titles, it's to check if we have pay the title if it costs some planets.
For Storm and Canyon, I haven't check, it's a theory like other titles.

Om23 might come across as a bit abrupt, but he is correct. This is not an open Beta, it is *the* product. We don't have a choice to join the beta, its a compulsory update. Even for those of us that don't have SM.
I appreciate the work xbx is doing on the server, but the fact is that the TM universe is what it is because of the community, and the people that run servers at their own expense are a big reason Nadeo has a community. Considering how important the server is to that environment, it strikes me as odd that the resources going into the server development appear to be an afterthought compared to the effort going into the game itself. xbx is doing a great job, but it seems to me that Nadeo really need to give him more backing.
The sad thing is that this situation isn't new to TM2, its been like this for years even with the TMUF server. Yes it works, but it seems that once it gets to a "good enough" state it's practically forgotten about.

I imagine that priority is to release SM, and the dedi will get more attention afterwards (remember Nadeo is a small studio), with help of the experience gained by the massive online player presence, that can only be aquired after release.
As you say, it has always been like that with Nadeo, but it is also explainable imo.
I'm running a lot of servers too and agree that it is sometimes a real struggle to keep things running, up to date and compatible.
That is why we can rent servers to people, for real money; because it really is work, and it is our choice to do it (and in fact i like doing it, when i have free time)
I set up my first SM server yesterday, as i did not find the time before, and the setup went quick and smooth.
It ran right away, smooth as butter.
Now for a servercontroller...

Is anyone recording the bandwidth download/upload running SM. I've had a report from a person running one that used 31GB in less than a day. That's pretty shocking considering plenty of other FPS servers don't use nearly that much.
I don't know about outside Australia, but hosting services that would provide enough quota to handle that kind of throughput would cost a fortune, and not something you could ever get enough back by renting servers. If there are server hosts in the US or Europe that offer better deals then that's great, but the lag effectively prevents any Aussies playing OS servers I would guess.

How many players, which gamemode, P2P activated on the server?
I know, logs are send automatically to Nadeo during the beta but not enough for 1 Gb per day (maybe 10 Mb or less, I don't know).
