I was trying to make a map, but found there was no suitable block I could use (One that just floats in the air without a supporting pillar)
I found I could force a block to float but it would have no underside and you can shoot through it from underneath
You can see the bug here http://pics.iron-pulse.com/u/A582317A_bug2.jpg
But I don't think you would call it a bug since I had to use alternative methods to get the block to be there in the first place
Is there a possibilty of adding such a block?
Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
I agree,
Theres so much different possibilities to do with platform block that doesent have fillup below the block.
Rooftops, holes in the walls, layers, tunnels, inner spaces, bridges, hideouts inside the walls, different designs, etc etc..
This block would be very important from builders perspective.
And I hope there will be this --> / <-- tilted floating block too.
Please add platform floating block to repertory

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
Definitely want the floating platform block, it would make building indoor maps much easier, as its good as roofs.
I also suggest another variant of same block with a light beneath, so indoor maps are lightened

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
Yeah we definitely need a ruins block that has a lighting stand on it, like the ground-only block with the lighting tripod, as well as an underground one of the same sort.
You can use the fences with tops on them but its very unforgiving for movement, and certainly doesn't allow for an indoors feeling.

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
Todays update certainly made the editor much more friendly, being able to extend blocks upwards (even with different types etc)
see example
http://pics.iron-pulse.com/u/3DC980C2_sm2.jpg
this archway is extended vertically by placing block 1-1-1 above it
Problem is I don't want an archway there, and if I just place block 1-1-1 inline with the bridge, I get a pillar.
If I force block 1-1-1 there I bet I can shoot / see through the bottom of it (You can see example of this in previous pic, or top left of this one).
Desperatley need blocks with no pillars

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
That gap can be jumped over
but we need floating blocks, to let the madness begin.

Re: Need more blocks, Specifically one without pillar
FINALLY!!
After days of faffing about (and many many editor crashes) I "fixed" the top blocks.

Still have that silly bridge which I don't want but the main problem is no more

No matter if its ugly..it works at least
Hopefully the floating blocks will come but until then I'd rather be able to not shoot through things
