It's the same editor used on Wikipedia. I don't want to use a third-party addon because i want to be sure that the extension stay up-to-date with the mediawiki version and so that the users of the wiki keep the same experience and don't have to adapt with a new editor every 3 months.

But if you know an editor up-to-date with a developer which has promised to keep it updated during all the mediawiki lifespan, i'm open

I like CKEditor. It is one of the best suites available for mere mortals. Unfortunately, I can say nothing about whether developer will support it or not, if we talk about such a distant future as a whole lifespan of a commonly used software suite.

I don't know, I have 0 relations to anyone involved into CKEditor. But I think I'll write them an email in this evening. Cautious questions can get us answers we want.

P.S. Albeit the website looks healthy, and the editor itself has a decent popularity amongst webmasters, especially those who work with Joomla or Drupal.
