lol, I'm sure this is not the only reason. You have to admit it looks pretty cool and after some time you get used to it. (i cant believe someone couldnt even start TM :D )

it may look cool, but it's pretty uncool to drag this thing back and forth, when it could be perfectly done on ONE screen. and yes, there already were 5-6 people, who just didn't see that they must drag something.

You are completely wrong with this. The topic starter asks directly for the purpose of a system that looks like it is optimized for "tablet like" stuff as it reminds of Windows8 (and maybe a little bit of the Android system), hence it's missing a touch pad functionality (there already exist some computer monitors with inbuilt touch screen functionality.
We don't know how the menu will evolve with upcoming titles, maybe it will have multiple windows which are arranged in a circle or maybe a planet? For me the menu was as intuitive as it could be. My first try, when entering the menu was to do a ctrl+scroll and I saw everything. But maybe I'm to familiar with Compiz and similar systems. And this means it is in no way copied by Windows 8 or Android. Just take a look at the actual gnome shell interface "Unity" (used in the latest ubuntu versions).
And about the attitude in his thread, be happy that you got one response. No one forces the Nadeo people to answer to such questions. If I were you I would be glad that game developers are in direct contact with the community.
AlexKF wrote:Exactly. I guess some might think 'Well, its obvious etc etc' but the issiue is that a good UI is only good when every person doesn't ever have to ask where and what features are and do.
(I am still waiting for an answer btw)
Here is a nice quote by "Rick Cook", that should illustrate the problem.
"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot- proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

A quote without further explanations and in no context to previous posted contributions indicates a great talent of being able to take part in a discussion in a way that holds no contribution to it. But it's nice to have you here ...
But nevertheless, back to your quote.
Why should it be done on one screen? With the huge amount of upcoming titles (official and custom ones), it seems to be unmanageable in just ONE screen without losing the overview.

why would you need these giant pictures on PC? even small ones are too big...

btw, that's what I meant with fitting everything on one screen (screensize is still the same); right list could be scrollable up/down, but still not that many mouse moves will be needed:

Sure looks nice, but you still need to take into account that not all players have a big screen. And as the requirements of the MP games are relatively low, you will get players with low resolutions. And for this guys the "multi-screen" of the ManiaPlanet application seems to be the best solution. It's already quite hard to see most of the details on a Laptop screen (15.4"), can't imagine how it will be on lower systems. Therefore I love the implementation of the zoom function
