Computer shuts down while playing TM2?

Today I experienced a second crash. This time no complete shutoff, "only" an immediate return to the desktop. I was working in the editor, pressed "u" for undo, only a small map, and next second I was back on the desktop, Canyon closed.

I found two log files that seem to correspond to this:

This happened after 1,5 hours of playing TM2, most time in the editor.

Oh, and some Sys Specs:
Pentium Dual-Core CPU
E5400 @2.70GHz
2.70 GHz, 2,00 GB RAM
Win XP, SP3
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT

After opening up my computer and using some compressed air to clean the vents and fan of my graphics card, I havent had this problem

Hm, another crash yesterday. This time no Shut Down and no "Welcome to your desktop" but a new variation: The screen went black, but the race music continued playing. Then some menu buttons briefly flashed in and disappeared, then only black and music (and a very busy hard drive). I had to restart the PC.

Vents and fan were clear, that wasn't the cause. Hm, since now I had a very stable system, but after one of the updates, these peaceful times are over

Until now, the crashes occured only in TM2, so I don't think, the problem is my hardware.

HDD fragmentation/videodriver crashes? try win-r -> eventvwr -> on the left "windows" -> "system" -> check for events near shutdown time.

Thanks for the tips, Omnixor . Last defrag is not so long ago, but I will check it. And perhaps eventvwr gives me a hint.

After some days without TM (holidays ) I'm back testing my crashes and shut downs.

Strange enough, there's nothing in the last days. Not a single crash. I haven't changed anything on my system (defrag not necessary, eventwvr showed nothing special) and there was no new update of TM2, but the game is stable now for several days. Not that I want to complain about that fact ... but it's strange anyway. I hope it stays this way.
