E-Sports and shootmania

Post by sp1ce »

So these are my suggestions to increase sponsorship for teams that are playing this game competitively . List format for easy reading. Please only constructive criticism/suggestions.

* Tournaments/Teams (still on the fence about who should make them) should make custom vehicles with a jersey that has various sponsors and the team logo. They may go as far as placing player names on the backs (probably would only be for established teams). I take this idea mostly from the recent team support dota 2 has implemented. Maybe even making an ingame editor for the vehicle would be great for helping teams with little to no Photoshop skills.

* A 3-rd person view so sponsors can feel good about their logo being large enough to view/even in view to begin with. (Have not messed around with the camera enough to see if this was actually implemented).

* I know this has been covered in other threads and forums but the movement should be more controlled (especially mid air movement it seems to have almost no control at all). All of the fps games that I have played in the past all had a unique combination of movement mechanics that contributed to successful game play. Take for example cs 1.6 which everyone knows. You had crouching, walking, unique player interaction, and air straffing (by player interaction i mean boosting) this combined for a great experience and the fans love to watch unique stuff.

Just some suggestions/concerns and poorly written at that. Let me know what you guys think/have to add.

I think custom vehicles would be a pretty decent idea, but like you said you would have to check out 3rd person view to see them.

I think another thing could be adding tournament sponsors (and other things) to the map itself, as tiles.

But I suppose we are still in beta so we'll have to wait for now :P

This is not really how FPS game sponsorship works. The teams/players advertise the products, not the little 3d model they're controlling.

Yea the only real feasible advertising I think would be in tiles in the map. You saw this sort of thing in CPL_mill from CS 1.6.

I don't think many people would want to watch 3rd person and random graphics could get distracting. I think big banner style tiles that were obvious "extras" and served no real purpose but to advertise would be the best way.
