Shadows...

Post by g1ock.0ut »

Rendering HQ shadows takes forever as I'm sure we all know, and I suppose it would be smart to test maps with low quality shadows until you're ready for a final render, that all makes sense to me.

My question is this: Whenever I finish a map I make sure it's validated, then render HQ shadows, then I'll save it.

Sometimes it doesn't save as high quality shadows though and I have to render them again. Is this something I'm doing wrong or is this a bug?

How do you know it doesn't save HQ?
Is the dialog box telling so?

The final screen after saving is a box with the snapshot, comments, and a bunch of buttons that are either red circles or green checks; Custom music, custom mod, validated, HQ shadows, etc... are in the list. Occasionally after rendering HQ shadows, then saving, the HQ shadows box won't be checked. Then I have to go delete/add a block and click save, then render HQ shadows again.

It doesn't happen very often, I haven't sat down and tried to reproduce it though.

I confirm this one, it is a bug.
Sometimes a map is not being "recognized" as a map with calculated shadows by the editors overview screen.
I have had this several times.
Sorry for thinking it was a known bug, i should have posted it as a bugreport.
I have no more information about how to reproduce it.
