How about to use as a transport - a car from the Canyon?
Or inverse: If playing in Canyon ShootMan - will be available opportunity to use a car and drive on the highway?
It's so you kill 2 birds with one stone right!
You will not need to create a "special zone" to play FPS in the Canyon and at the same time you enable an existing transport - Canyon car, adding fans ManiaPlanet (SM and TM2)
a new opportunity - to pass on the Canyon since driver! Is not that cool?

As I already said, most of our work is on the Maniaplanet platform in order to accept evolutions and multiple titles environment. It looks simple but it is quite a job. I don't want to make promises and we are clearly beyond scheduled for the past years, but I expect things to accelerate starting this september when the team will be full power. Maniaplanet 2 was the big thing. There is only import of objects to do for it to be mostly completed and it should be already a good move in itself.
On your full post Nitro, there are many assumptions, such as having a the canyon car compatible in the network environment of shootmania is instant. It is far from that. But you globally hope for a more open platform and it is part of our goal to do it, slowly but surely and in a solid way. This is the latest that requires so much time. I think that making open platform without structure would be a mistake. The services we can bring with a structure are better.

I agree that if it was much shorter, it would be much better, but we are going really fast, but on a really big project. But if it was much shorter, would it be as good? So, the main default is probably the same as the main quality: the size of the ambition. Having an environment 2.0 for games were players are truely capable to make interesting experience, thanks to dedicated servers, map editors, replay editor, scripts etc.
Fondations are long to do and I really tought they would be finish earlier. I hope we will have less to touch them now. We shall see.
