During alpha we had on the playerpage a way to add players to a team. Then through maniahome came a message through a manialink called competitive that "playernick" joined Team "A".

This has been revoked i think due to the beta stage as the tab on playerpage is removed.

Thx for the answer w1lla, but my question was according to the Nadeo sub teams for the development of the different games (just as Makc86 assumed). :)

Hello,

I'd very much like to know that the Field of View (FOV) angle is in SM.

I know it changes a bit temporarily when you travel on the boost/jump pads, and it changes a bit whenever you fire.

But what is the FOV when you just are standing still?
Somewhere between 95-100 in the 16:9 aspect ratio?
Could you please give us the exact FOV number that SM uses?

There is the thrusted circle. And to avoid issue with free account, they can't use custom graphics

At a time yes. Maybe it is still, maybe not ^^


subteams was an organisation in 2008, with a shoot, a quest and a maniaplanet team after we released forever. Since 2009, it is more like 'maniaplanet' and some specific features done there or there. Anyway, R&D Maniaplanet is 90% + of our time. About visuals, graphic artists are switching on one to another depending of the list of things to do. One is going back soon on Storm while he was on Valley and another one is going soon on Valley while he was on Storm. Another one is working on something else, for example ^^

w1lla, what you saw on team is the tiny start of team integration. It is a topic since long time and it is an ongoing dev.

Nitro, not in the "FPS" features list. Could be a later dev however.

sengepc, the fov depends on the ratio, and is vertical. I think it is a little like you said but no exact number in the engine.

Hi Hylis,

Actually, there is an exact number. And it is this exact number I and others have been trying to find for a few months now.

When you stand still in SM, no shooting guns, or jumping or travelling, there is one EXACT FoV angle number, which I think lies somewhere between 90-100.

Could you please provide us with the correct and actual FOV angle number?

(if there were no exact number, everyone playing this game would constantly experience being zoomed in and zoomed out while standing still; it would drive people mad. There is an exact number; everything else is impossible.)

Examples:
For UT its 90 (4:3 ratio)
For Quake Live its 100 (16:9 ratio)
For CS:S it's 75 (16:9 ratio)
For CoD4 its 65 (16:9 ratio)
For Shootmania it is.... ?

Why would you like to know the exact number when I say that there is no such number in the engine? We decide of a vertical ratio that makes different ratio in consequence, computed by the engine, depending of the y/x aspect of the screen. So, maybe it falls between 90 and 100 on 16/9, but it would look like 93.2523423.
