Re: Questions and answers
We prefer that all the players keep the same experience through the officials titles and to see what they can do at first with the tools on a basic way (no need to know how use a 2D/3D software, import it in the games, etc.).Makc86 wrote:This is a bad idea. I assume that the result of such an approach will not be enough players who want to create an objects only in the titles. Most good option - is to use objects in the mods.Cerovan wrote:They will be useable only in custom Titlesjanculits wrote:Will the custom objects be only usable in custom titles or can I put them in my casual Canyon tracks aswell??
It'll be weird to be able to see objects that they can't see/use in the map editor or take the habit to play with a kind of blocks while it's not available officially by us.
Moreover it gives a surplus-value to use title, to have the hand on more parameters than the script only (it gives the possibilities to be able to evolve the title with it's own ambiance with mods for example).

But perhaps you meant the ability to use 3D models?

Re: Questions and answers
The import of 3d objects is for many reasons. Some have been said by Cerovan, but one of the most important one is to simplify the download management for the servers and players. Since objects can link to new textures, geometry and other potential information in the future, it is better to have a good split of "static download for the title"/"live download of the map"
For me, it is a good balance between downloadable applications and live stuff. You install firefox, you surf pages. You install the objects, you surf the maps. It is different from mods, skins or else since it is obligatory datas for it changes the visuals and physical shapes.

Yeah I meant 3D models, such as the 3D car skins from Maniapark.eyebo wrote:Skins are available here: http://www.maniapark.com/liste_car.php?game=2CrAzYdriv3r wrote:Are 3D skins available for Shootmania ?

Re: Questions and answers
what I don't like about it, is that there won't be much diversity... in TMUF e.g., you could go on united server and play tracks made in 7 envis. in maniaplanet, if you go on canyon server, you'll only play canyon tracks. to play tracks with customs, you will need to go to that title's server. will people play there?.. not sure, since, as far as I heard, nobody even plays Heroes (OFFICIAL mode). and who'll play those unknown custom titles, when there's always populated Canyon title?

Re: Questions and answers
please stop always comparing a evolved and established TMUF with the start of ManiaPlanet. Please wait until there are many more environments and games
One one side you are right: the local diversity will be much less. You will get more specialised servers.
But the overall diversity will be much more. From ManiaPlanet you will have access to TM, SM, QM, various environments each, and the additional titles yet to come.
For everyone there will be something.
I hope

Re: Questions and answers
I just want TM ffs. if I gonna play only TM, TMUF will give me bigger diversity anyway.TMarc wrote:From ManiaPlanet you will have access to TM, SM, QM, various environments each, and the additional titles yet to come.
p.s. why should it matter if maniaplanet is new or tmuf is old? vice versa, with more titles, there will be less players for every of them... and tmuf has diverse servers from the very start I guess.
