Seeing marked players through walls

Post by poptrunk »

Using the horn key allows you to mark where you are aiming on the map with an "X" which your teammates can see, but if you are aiming at a player it will mark them, allowing you to see their name above their head. The problem is that you can see their name through walls as well. Defenders are constantly spamming the attacker in order to keep them marked as long as possible; effectively a type of wall hack. This makes the gameplay ridiculous and is unacceptable. Please remove the ability to see marked players through walls or remove the ability to mark players at all.

I also dislike this feature to an extent. I don't like the idea of being able to actually mark the "player" but marking their "location" at a given time seems like a really nice feature when playing a random pick up game with players you are not in voice communication with. I would prefer a server setting to disable player marking altogether, as I would prefer not to have it for competitive events.

LOL, actually that is a really nice feature which improves teamplay and it takes skill to do it, especially on long distances. Never ever remove this!
