We have made an "as quick as possible" update to bring the object import into Maniaplanet. We are eager to bring it and we know how to improve many things on it and clearly intend to do some of them ^^


Most important things to know about objects today
1/ They have to be bound to Titles in order for others players to have the same objects and collisions as you already downloaded. It also works with Trackmania.
2/ We just made really basic samples in to Elite Exp. There is no object into other titles until we are confident with the system.
3/ Players can already add objects to their titles. Maps made with them may suffer from update later, even if we will try to keep them as compatible as reasonably possible to spend time on it.

Editing instructions
Select an object with the new icon in the editor (the three) use TAB to change the pivot of placement and +/- to rotate by 15 degrees (right click still 90°)

In addition for this update: performance optimization for big maps.
I would like to have feedback on this if some players see the difference. Each time we optimize something, something can be the biggest CPU usage and limit the FPS increase. It has been done in the past and may be the case again. Anyway, if you feel it is the same or improved, I would be glad to hear your impressions.

We have looked for other quick fixes, but had to skip these changes.
Next step: 1.4 with some integration of gameplay evolutions tested in Elite Exp and maybe other things.

where I neeed to put the 3D models and would it be possible to make an small tutorial?

Just updated, and first view says that its much more comfortable to play now, instead of 30 framerate now 70.
But what i see is that the SnapshotDeltaTime is now almost constant at 300.(Sometimes some seconds on 80)

Hope the big freeze laggs got fixed too!

Is a new Dedicated comming out too?

The dedicated server is upcoming thanks to Gugli and Damien will update with the importer tool + our samples sources

The dedicated is required to run the map with objects

just tested the object thing with the blocks in elite exp, this is defintly an awesome feature :yes:

can't wait to setup the maniapark titles, i think we'll make something with all objects submitted that we'll update regularly :pil

What I like is that we will see how awesome are players as well.

It does not mean that our job is to let them do ours, since we work really hard and it is difficult to make all possible in an efficient way, but players just make the features more awesome by the unexpected being possible again. I don't know what we will see in the upcoming weeks with objects. It is cool ^^

Didn't expect that custom objects aren't bound to the editor grid :shock: This is incredibly awesome! :clap:

Now, I'm not a 3d artist or anything, but I would definately want to try making some simple stuff myself. What software should I use to build the objects and how can I import them?
