Cannot connect to the server (12029)

Hi there,

I recently was lucky enough to get chosen for the beta of shootmania. However i am stuck when i try to play.

I installed the mania planet through the e-mail link in which you sent me, however when i play the following error comes up: Cannot connect to the server (12029) - http://gyazo.com/3c9f306d0da592bae3bf8a89d2e3e6ca

I have googled it, and someone said to change my host files, but that hasn't changed a thing.

If anyone has any clues, i would much appreciate it.

You may not connect to master server maybe because of a firewall, antivirus or else. Did you also check if the "working offline" option is not hit in Internet Explorer?
Gillz had the same issue and fixed it as doing as follows:

I had entries in my host file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) that blocked the maniaplanet servers, I had them because I borrowed Trackmania from a friend and wanted to test the performance of my machine in preparation for Shootmania, so I had to put those entries in to try the game. Removing them made it work.

Any suggestions?
I try to launch Trackmania 2 (Canyon), 12029; can not connect to master server.

As your other post was in the wrong section, I have deleted that from the TM1 subforum.

Did you do a fresh installation of ManiaPlanet? Did you run the setup with administrator rights?
Did you try to disable your firewall as recommended? Please check Windows firewall, anti-virus internet security suite's firewall, and also the firewall integrated into your router / dsl modem / cable modem.
