Re: Custom Objects Specifications

for the moment you have to create a title to play with objects.

it's a little confusing cause for the moment everybody will try to make objects and we'll have many titles for just one or two objects.

what i propose is to setup a maniapark title with all objects sent to the site, i'll update it every two or three days for the beginning and maybe week after week for the future. With this, everyone will be able to have fun with many different styles of objects and setup servers with only one title. I think it's the only way to make custom objects successful for the moment. Maybe when serious global mods will be make that'll be different but i think that we must have a global base for all objects.
What are you thinking about that all of you here ?

In my opinion, it's the best way to deal with this situation for the beginning of imported objects.
So that all objects can be centralised in one place, and therefore be used easily within a single Title. :thx:

Great objects so far btw !

thx SadHik and Papy for your fast answers.

I like the idea to centralize that.
But in my situation, the best way is to create a own title, because i want test the whole gameplay before i publish anything.

Would be a great pleasure to use custom blocks easily in the normal canyon editor, f.e. just download a custom block to ...UserData/Blocks/Canyon (or Storm) and than the blocks are ready to use without creating a new title pack or something like that.
Just the same easy way like to install custom cars/skins
But i know it´s in progression, so we have to wait till it´s in it´s final stage

It works like that ( i just test it) Edit : In the editor
damien wrote: - objects availability :
* in map editor, you have access to all objects in the current title, plus all objects on your Blocks folder (Common + current collection)
* in all other contexts, you have only access to objects that are part of the current title.
for multiplayer, it's the choice we made so that everyboy can play the maps (as they own the title, they have access to all objects).
So i don't know if it is so useful to have a title "Maniapark". It would be useful only to play maps out the editor (so maps from others players with a password). With a update every 2 or 3 days it will consume bandwith. I prefer if Maniapark host other title packs ;)

It's not possible to online games because you need to have these blocks to play the map. If you haven't the blocks, how the game will work (kick the player, play the map without blocks, download blocks during the loading (can be very long and doesn't work if P2P disabled).

1) Can I in 3ds max make 2 or more objects in 1 file for make different material in 1 object? Ex: butt - wood end metal.
2) We can move objects with ManiaScripts? (Make movement objects)
3) Why I read the doc with Material List and MatList is empty? :teub:
