[B1.3c]Severe lag issue

I pre-ordered the game yesterday, downloaded it, installed and patched it. I've only just had the chance to play it, and I am extremely disappointed. Despite servers appearing to ping fine before connecting to them, once I'm connected and in the game I have horrendous lag, so bad it's unplayable. I don't think this is fps lag as I have been able to find one server which I don't lag on (my computer is easily capable of running it), but it's not very populated and I don't want to be restricted to one server anyway.

If I try connecting to a server on a different game (e.g. quakelive, cod) I'm not experiencing any lag. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a problem similar to this, and if so how did they go about fixing it? If anyone could give me advice I'd be very grateful. I've looked at the maniaplanet help page but haven't found this of any help.

where are you and servers?

I'm from the UK, and the servers I'm joining are all from Europe. Mainly I've tried French and German servers.

Hit the hyphen (minus) key to bring up your ping in game. Though the accuracy of the server browser ping estimation has improved dramatically (it used to be off by 200-300 milliseconds for me), it is still not entirely accurate.

That won't fix the problem, but it will at least rule a few things out. (including determining if there is fps lag)

Also, don't assume that you will see good performance because you have a good system. This game doesn't seem to care about multi core cpu's or crossfile/sli. At highest settings, I only lose 5 fps by disabling my second video card. I am also usually only using 2 of my 6 cpu cores, even when I am not getting good frame rates.

I have the same problem. Very rarely encounter a server without lag ...

Thank you for your reports. Could you please post your server log that you can find in MyDocuments\maniaplanet ?
