The problem is not to decide if drift is good or bad, but to have diversity in enviros, and so not have the drift being the good thing to do in all enviros.Demented wrote:I personally like the ability to take a corner faster by drifting.

Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
About multiple environment servers. The way it is done today in the architecture, mid term, it would be with enabling the creation of multiple environment titles. We would eventually do an official unified environments that includes the three environments and let the players make only dual environment if they wish. But it is mid term.
Short term, maybe it will be the switch of server for a small part of players. But I think we need to release the environment before this anyway. Keep in mind, for the server, there is less loading and the configuration can be right by Title/mode/settings etc. The question of who have what, the loading of datas, the settings per title also on client or other topics can arrive on the way of having a specific system for multiple environments more than switch in short term.
If people want to make a competition, they can do one day on one environment and the other on another. We already set up this with the daily cup with Slig in the past.
There are some positive things that sometimes happen with new way of doing things. At one time, some players wanted a disconnection between Nations and United in order to prevent the former to take too much space. Would they have said this before release?
I would rather give the advice to wait and see when things are there instead of making troubles out of nothing at the moment I think. The frontier between what can happen with adaptation of players and the previous system is maybe not that far.
I know players have good memories of this type of servers and I am part of them. Do not go to say that I don't even like multiple environments servers in the future to argue about this ^_^

Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
So that would mean you'll have to make a TrackMania United 2 or something like that?

Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
yes, but not to be bought ^^ I mean to make a title that depends of multiple environments, like the Raid that would depend of Canyon and Valley.CrAzYdriv3r wrote:So that would mean you'll have to make a TrackMania United 2 or something like that?
I said Unified in order to avoid to talk about United and create disappointing comments or confusion ^^
Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
Regarding the car physics, I have the same opinion as Wormii:
So I conclude that many players, including me, favor driving physics which work more like they were in TMUF. I don´t say that you should copy that physics but the canyon car physics were just a step in the wrong direction for me.
(I just read some posts in the MX Forum on this topic aswell and they go in the same direction:

The canyon car went with different driving physics than all the other cars we knew from TMUF. And personally I think because of these new physics in canyon the whole envi wasn´t as successful as the previous ones. I derive that from the number of servers I saw when I started canyon today (around 45 in the whole world) and the number of servers I remember from the TMUF days.Wormii wrote:Next time when you create a new environment, let it be something in which you have to avoid sliding, not use it to turn. And let the car start sliding or fall if you drive a corner too fast. Those things made all 6 environments of TMU (stadium excluded) be what they are.
Nadeo pls, you are going to wrong way if you make all envis like that. If valley really needs sliding, this is going to be pretty monotonous.

Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
I disagree.
I think Canyon's physics, once learned, are more versatile that any previous. That's just one opinion thought. Fact is Every environment has it's own unique physics that help make each environment a unique experience. No one style of physics will ever please everyone. Don't get me wrong here, I think an environment with tight grip (Like Formula One style) would be a lot of fun. I also think an environment with a lot more slip (like Big 4x4 Trucks in Dirt and Mud) would be fun too. Or even a low gravity off world env.

Maybe one day we'll have TM² Moon and TM² ToyDemented wrote:Or even a low gravity off world env.

Re: Next time when you create a new environment...
If they ever release a Toy env., then I will be able to live entirely peaceful! It would be a great break from the natural landscapes environments, adding more variety to the game^^Poutrel wrote:Maybe one day we'll have TM² Moon and TM² ToyDemented wrote:Or even a low gravity off world env.
