Maybe one day we'll have TM² Moon and TM² Toy :P
If they ever release a Toy env., then I will be able to live entirely peaceful! It would be a great break from the natural landscapes environments, adding more variety to the game^^

If i'm right, it was planed during the dev of TMUF, but cancelled.

That would be fun.
If they were working on these env's before they could be picked up again and reworked.

Any time people talk about a toy environment, my mind goes back to Re-Volt.

Eyebo, you just made my day by reminding me about this game! :thx:
It is, and will always be one of the best games I ever played.

The way I would imagine a Toy env. Would be a Giant Sandbox in which small cars would race. Eventually, giant buckets and buildings in the background.
Something like this:

I remember Re-Volt. Radio controlled cars right? That was a fun game.
An env. that is a mix of that and micro machines without powerups and current graphics,
Could be Very Fun if done right.

I really hope that multi-environments server will be available as soon as possible.

I have a bad feeling if not:

Timeline:
1. Valley and Stadium2 will be released
2. Of course almost all Canyon players will try Valley and Stadium players from TMNF will try Stadium2
3. When most players are saturated with Valley, some will go back to Canyon (or Stadium2)
4. But then we will notice that the Canyon players of today have split over 3 titles and that there will be only half or less crowded servers in comparison to today (and today it's already not overcrowded).
5. Only stadium servers will be populated if it will be free and the rest of the canyon/valley players stop playing or joining the stadium servers.

I hope this timeline won't become true

Solutions I see are:
A. Valley brings a huge boost in players (Stadium2 will probably only boost stadium2 players, because we all know most stadium players only want their stadium and nothing else. ^^)
B. Multi-environment-servers to unite Canyon/Valley players and maybe even Stadium2 :P

I agree 100% The importance of this can not be under estimated
Hylis wrote:About multiple environment servers. The way it is done today in the architecture, mid term, it would be with enabling the creation of multiple environment titles. We would eventually do an official unified environments that includes the three environments and let the players make only dual environment if they wish. But it is mid term.

Short term, maybe it will be the switch of server for a small part of players. But I think we need to release the environment before this anyway. Keep in mind, for the server, there is less loading and the configuration can be right by Title/mode/settings etc. The question of who have what, the loading of datas, the settings per title also on client or other topics can arrive on the way of having a specific system for multiple environments more than switch in short term.

If people want to make a competition, they can do one day on one environment and the other on another. We already set up this with the daily cup with Slig in the past.

There are some positive things that sometimes happen with new way of doing things. At one time, some players wanted a disconnection between Nations and United in order to prevent the former to take too much space. Would they have said this before release?

I would rather give the advice to wait and see when things are there instead of making troubles out of nothing at the moment I think. The frontier between what can happen with adaptation of players and the previous system is maybe not that far.

I know players have good memories of this type of servers and I am part of them. Do not go to say that I don't even like multiple environments servers in the future to argue about this ^_^
:( Mid term is too far away

From the old maniaplanet presentation video (From 2010) they said something like all the games were multi-envi servers, even sm, tm and qm. Like one round racing on canyon and then one match on sm. (edit: realized that on the animation the players goes from the genre, then into maniaplanet before going into another genre, so i guess its just something i picked up somewhere. who knows, maybe its true)
Im not sure if this is still what they think of, but since its like this in united, i guess its able for atleast canyon and valley.
