Laggy maps
In some maps theres average to high lag in busy spots or because of design. Is it because of map and game, or because of graphic card? Still many players experience these same lags in same maps. If its because of the game, I would suggest to pay more attention to this problem as its very crucial to have as smoothest playing as possible. Ofcourse its mappers responsibility to create lower copper maps but I think laggines starts above 8500+cc maps which is quite average size. Most of maps are around 8000-10 000cc.
Re: Laggy maps
Lag is mainly affected by connection speed (of the client and server), the ping, the amount of players and of course the size of the map. There's a limit to how much nadeo can do, and I think the game actually works pretty well for what it requires. You don't usually see the same amount of players in other FPS games. Personally, I only lag noticably on Royal servers with 30+ players where the map fills the entire area, and even that's bearable. I'm European though, so there are a lot of quality servers near my location.

Re: Laggy maps
Are you talking about lag or low frame rate?
The lag is entirely connection based, it shouldn't matter what size the map is. For example lag is when you get shot after running around a corner or warp to another place after you think you've taken a big jump.
Low frame rate or choppiness can happen in higher copper maps because there is so much more for the game to render. It also seems like the game renders every block in front of you, not just every visible block I notice frame fluctuations when looking outside of the map to the center (on high copper maps), even if I'm in a concrete box and can't actually see all the blocks in the middle.
Also some people are just going absolutely overboard on the number of blocks they put in the map, and it usually doesn't make any difference to the actual game play, just adds 10 or 15 seconds to your travel time.
