Well my point still stands, Maniaplanet isn't intuitive at all, it is a complete mess that once you've even learnt it feels slow and inconvenient. I think most people don't play any more simply because they couldn't work it out and I don't blame them, like I said about the server browser and how it doesn't default to world probably makes people think the game is 100% dead and uninstall because they didn't realise. I think it was designed like it is because they thought they'd have more players, sadly it hasn't worked out like that and I find myself not playing a lot of the time because there are so few players active even when set to world. It suffers a lot like Planetside 2 where the fun becomes when there are lots of people to compete with, however there only seems to be people during peak so you find yourself putting off playing the game.
The game has no advertising, the UI is a mess, the different versions are just simply unclear, I mean most people I spoke to about the original TrackMania were confused by how many different versions there were. Like an MMO with lots of expansions and not knowing what to get, they just get scared off and don't bother. The developers need to consolidate everything into one package and having 3 separate titles just for different environments is very weird and off putting. You'll have this community that is split up when really it should all be under one server browser and you just have the name of the environment the server is currently running on. The server should also be able to switch environments map to map to mix things up.
I wasn't aware each Valley, Canyon and Stadium had different handling models which I spose makes sense but again it should all be filters in the server browser rather than them trying to sell them as separate titles. I mean how do you switch version? Do you have to use that horrible ManiaPlanet UI like you have to do with ShootMania? That would be terrible.
It would suit the F2P model though, put it on Steam, One of them is free, you can buy environments or cars etc etc. I wont get started on how horrible the current system is for cars lol, they need to do a TF2 like system where people can upload their models, the developers then sell them and creator of the car gets a small cut.
I don't understand why Paid developers do things so backwards for the user, it is like their ego gets in the way. I have a feeling they're saying we can make this ManiaPlanet thing work and want to keep pushing it but taking too long about it and they'll probably go out of business before it is good. I mean play GTA 4 MP and then play GTA:SA MTA and tell me which one is better, one is a mod and the other cost like 100 million to make? The GTA 4 experience is horrible, a clumsy and slow UI, poor server browser, poor selection of modes etc. I don't get why you have to go into the SP to then pull out your mobile and then go into the MP menu, why not just have MP and SP on the title menu? I know people who didn't know MP existed because it is hidden in this mobile and as a result it is dead.
Where as the MTA modders have some crazy modes, let people create the content, great built in track and map maker and they've basically ripped off the design of Valve's Menu style before L4D came out. Speaking of Valve I don't get where they're going with their UI either lol, they've just made choosing graphical options cumbersome and slow compared to how it used to be. I hate graphical options where you have to scroll left or right, you never know which is the max option, unlike when they just had the drop down style where you could see all the options in one go. The worst thing is though they sometimes have High being the highest setting and sometimes Very High, it isn't consistent, so instead of selecting high for everything, you have to then cycle through to make sure each one doesn't have a very high option.
Anyways I forgot my point....
Oh yes ManiaPlanet is bad.

Interesting that you are only complaining, and this a lot, which is very sad.
Why do you invest so much time to write such a post, without anything positive?
I have split the thread because you did not write especially about Stadium as the original thread title proposes.
And as I wrote in the message before yours, no discussion about Steam there.
And you did not really look in to the games, neither did you look at the history of TrackMania.
There are advertisements, the servers are full of them.
Did you play any of the older game? TrackMania United?
It is well known that Nadeo is doing a dramatic change with ManiaPlanet, and that we have to be patient until they get it working as it was intended by them.
At the moment we have Beta phase, many things might still change, and many things are not totally working.
Perhaps you better put the game aside and look at it in a few years
