Complaints about Beta 2 dedicated server

Smart, as Nadeo work are asking a lot of implication and work.

Please stop criticize either one or the other.

All is not perfect ... so ... we are not able to see what is really happening from Nadeo. Why ? Because Nadeo team is working hard to resolve the issues to fix them today (as they said). The answer are from Nadeo Live team who is not able to work on the code.

It's very easy to only point the bad thinks. A better way should be to help these guys to make the better game.

And I am convinced that is what yamyam want : The better game to enjoy it.

So, ok, Nadeo is not perfect in its communication, but we have to be reasonable too

I'm not sure if this affects anyone else, but I thought I would mention here in case it helps someone. On an Ubuntu server, I could not start either of my elite servers at all. The terminal would pop up but then disappeared and nothing happened. I installed the "patch" from this thread but it did not help. Only after deleting the entire thing and downloading the newer version did it work, despite having identical settings. Maybe this was an error on my part, but if you are having trouble starting after applying the patch, you may want to try the newest version fresh.

Did you check the logs ?

There were no entries at all.

i am only reading this forum as guest but now i had to register to say something to this clown. sorry to say that but your are wrong john. most of what yamyam said is true and i think he and his clan have been more active and have made more for maniaplanet as you ever will in your whole life. your reaction and insults are just showing that you are some kind of jealous! as far as i know smart is the most used server controller for shootmania and even if there are other great controlers for sure: i bet your are one of the other guys. your agressive jealousy is to obvious showing this, you've got caught!

I have to agree that it is quite irritating that we bought a released game and are back to beta. Personally I am not interested in SM so why do we have to put up with all the beta problems of an other game we dont play ?
Sensorship is never the way to go, that only works in politics and only when it stays behind closed doors. Words used by disgruntled contributing members in this thread are not over the line so stop grasping at straws.

As to the problem with the blocks:
Cars and avatars are also not loading.
My first thought would be something is totally wrong with mods. (not loading to server or some such)
My Master Admin told me that after a map crashed that has the blocks missing they tried the same map again and it worked fine.

I hope this will all get resolved quickly and in the future patches will be tested better.
And do remember that your community is the only reason we play TM2 longer than 3 weeks.

as you just wrote this i wanna inform you that i am in contact with yamyam and others and he just told me that he already is taking off all their servers at this moment. other server admins and clans should do same.

appeal to all server admins:
take off all of your maniaplanet servers until nadeo wakes up!

Like i said, you act like children, you want everything right now, and pollute this topic to get it faster,
you just increase the time nadeo will take to administrate this forum.

You have to accept that sometime people make mistake, and i'm sure Nadeo is actually working really hard to fix problems.

You should be more tolerant when you know that nadeo are pioneer trying to gather community of different game, kind of opening their source to people with maniascripts manialinks and then the support and the improvement of each game.

Several project are beeing updated at the same time, when you know that Nadeo are one of the first to do that, you should think that they have multiple point of failure (which is difficult to maintain) and in the same time have to make improvement to respect their deadline and not be outrun by other video game company.

So yes you payed 20 euro for a game, now if you can't play it be patient, it's for better days.
Now if you want to insists in your spoiled child attitude, you're just proving that you're life has nothing else that video game, which would be really pittyfull. In that case you'd better quit the community, get some books, study, get some responsabilities ... get a usefull life.

Are you talking about /var/log entries or ManiaPlaner\Logs files ?

Other question, what is displayed when you try to launch your server ?

Maybe a chmod 0755 on the executable will help you ...
