I tried out the Royal(exp) mode for shootmania storm beta 2 several times now. I think I have some valuable feedback:
1- Though the ui of the level-up / spending xp points screen is very simplistic, it is far from being modern and - most important - intuitive. Will a professional UI-designer look over this or is this as it should be for the final version?
Here are the major issues with that:
a - functional buttons don't look anywhat near buttons like users are used to. they should clearly stand out
b - progress bars look nearly the same like buttons
c - some buttons are just like hyperlinks, even if they will do heavy differences when activated (like the "rebirth" function)
d - the fact that you were reborn two or three times is merely displayed by a tiny number instead of a big display of what you as a player have gone through allready (i would be thinking of a graphical display in terms of mabye the whole window should be displayed in different colors depending of a players rebirth count)
Because of these major ui-issues the user-experience is very much downgraded and I really hope that a ui-designer will revamp this thing entirely. How big is the chance of this happening?
2 - the offzone: Its cool that you go with the "storm" theme, but this new offzone thats looking like a hurricane has a major issue: You can't tell when you will be killed by it and when not. Also, touching a wall of energy (like the previous offzone) and being killed by that makes a whole lot of sense, but not if you just get close to wind thats moving as slow as this, don't you think so?
I would really appreciate answers to the questions i stated here and I hope I did some good here
