Another question: is it intentionally that this forum isn't visible on the frontpage?
Because it's quite irritating to see the ManiaPlanet image on the left light up orange, without a visible subforum having new posts...

On the frontpage http://forum.maniaplanet.com/index.php there are only the subforums, but no individual threads.
There is a very small "sheet" or "file" icon that shows up red if there is a new post in that subforum, or blue if there is none:

Do you mean exactly that, or something else? :?

Why are all ROC servers only open between 15-18GMT?

this is great for Euro players but what about the rest of the world??
Having ROC servers only during these times effectively excludes any player from Australia and many other timezones from ever getting over 90k ladder points, as for us 15-18GMT falls between 03-06AEST on a Monday morning.
Fantastic if you need to get up for work or school. :(
I personally don't give 2 hoots about ladder points as i only play for fun (probably also cause I'm  " not that good")
However I do know many here in AUS who do play for Ladder Points and cant play ROC because of the time difference but would love to be able to.

This is called "ManiaPLANET" is it not? not "ManiaEURO" :0010

Each region deserves to have a ROC servers available to them at a decent time just like EURO players.
I know this is done so as no-one can play more than 1 session of ROC per week and gain an unfair advantage, but this is just what those in Euro zone are getting over others.
Could'nt a plugin for mania live be able to bar entry to a ROC server that is not in a players timezone?
if this can be done with ladder points limit then it can be done with login registered zone.
IE a player from AUS could only join a ROC server that is active between 15-1800Hrs AEST and a US player could only join ROC server running 15-1800 ET etc etc
or as a a safe guard maybe the plugin could check with the master server upon a players connection that the login had not joined a ROC server in another timezone and if they had then they would be banned from that server for that ROC session. this would also allow those who are up all night by choice to play in another time zone ROC.

Broric, we have tried to be opened as max as possible to be fair with TM, but I agree it is far from perfect.

This is why I Intend to create subdivisions per zones in world, based on continents. So, time schedules will be based on continent average time zone. It will enable to have championship, champions and top of the ladder per continent more than the world, that would suffer anyway of to big ping (which is not a trouble in TM)

thanks for your reply Hylis

I'm sure that continental subdivisions will give the more competitive players incentive and an extra target to aim for in their quest to be the best in the world.
Will these Continental subdivisions be allowed to run ROC servers? or will you create another type of official ladder server between Pro Racers and Race of Champions which would be restricted to players from each subdivision?
thanks again Hylis and keep up the good work.

Each continent should be able to go up to 100K ladder points. Intercontinental competitions will have to be like real ones ^_^

It is possible, however, that we reduce the number of players allowed in each range depending on continent number of active players

if 100 are allowed between 90 and 100 in Europe
maybe 10 will be allowed in Oceania, for example
