hey, I maybe said something what could be misunderstood :D

the thing is, cuda is used. let it be openCL, i don´t know, but

rendering a small map the gpu is on 100%
but rendering a big map it is below of 30% @ clocks somewhere between turbo and idle!

we also could talk about multi gpu support ( i am not talking about SLI or C-fire stuff!)
just using the cores which are available.

the whole software with some exceptions on market can´t use multi core and this is sad truth!

oh here, some old threads about openCL effort by my side :D

Ok, it explains why I need 3x times more to compute shadows with an i7 + ATI Radeon 7950 than a friend with an i7 and a GeForce GTX graphic card ... ^^

bcs your maps are twice complex?
or did u compute the same map?

I think not there is a big difference.

The both were done by computing all the maps for our servers. It's around 30 maps for each of us. The average time for my computer is really taking 3x more time (around 15-20 minutes per map)...

My computer is not really weak : Core i7 2600k, 8GB DDR3, SSD drive but ATI Graphic Card ...

I was surprised when my friend told me about the time he needs to compute with Ultra Quality.

15-20 minute per map with Ultra Quality. I gave the info but it wasn't very clear ...

does it means on your friend computer it needs 5 - 6m40s per map with Ultra Quality?
