Please read again what I wrote above.
I asked to give a screenshot to see on what you land after the grapple.
I will never find the exact place you have the issue, but if you think you know it better...
The problem is not where he lands, but where he flies off.
Whats landing got to do with the problem? The grappling hook doesn't know where you will land, and work/not work according to that
I saw some videos posted here of that issue during beta 2, and it was supposed to be fixed for beta 3. I wonder if it's the same issue, or something different.

@MARC :p what he said! Its not about the landing. Its between getting of the wooden ramp & the grappler that something goes wrong. Its like your spacebar/RMB doesnt do what you want it to do.

Are you guys using the full jump key or the variable jump key? Because I think it's a bug with the full jump key (in the way it was coded.)
It feels like the fulljump-key was coded so it simulates the variable jump key being held down untill a full jump is reached, which obviously won't let you use any jump-key untill it stops simulating the key being held down. I could be wrong about this ofcourse, but that's what it feels like when I first tried using the full jump key for walljumps. And it could be that you guys aren't using full jump key and that the problem lies elsewhere.
PS! If full jump key was coded in this way (which I really hope it wasn't) you need to change this.
Hi, some more things I've noticed. Just wanted to share that aswell.
As I actually like many mods in this game. I play alot of TimeTrial and Obstacle. I can confirm what people are saying about the hook. It doesn't grapple sometimes which is very annoying.
Also another thing I've noticed, while I try worldrecords on some obstacle maps, I've noticed the fence is very "slippery". You cant do like before, you only glide off. The feeling is like its full of soap. I highly recommend changing that back as it destroys many maps. .

+1
Same things here. In another post, talespin already said that there is a bug with the jumping key. When you jump after landing and use some stamina, you can't jump for a couple of seconds. It's an annoying bug (and i use the full jump key).

I've noticed the same thing while playing elite. Its harder to quickly jump on a grid to shoot an enemy than before, because now you have to take into account if you slip whereas before it was quite easy to stay stable, therefore easier to shoot.
The old grip was more fun for players and spectators imo. This just restricts the player more, and shouldn't have anything to do with the walljump being nerfed.

I dont use the fulljump key.

Yeps !! So true.
Also rocks are superslippery right now? And that wasnt before either ;s I dont know why you made these rocks so slippery... Whats the logic about that? The moss or something? My suggestion is to make them feel like any other stone surface.

I'll look into that.
I don't know how it happened, we re-exported the fences for CPU optims, but did not touch collisions. This was not intended.
thanks for the report.

To avoid climbing cliffs too easily and break maps, the rock material has been made slippery. The big rocks got that behavior too as a side effect, I think we modified things to avoid that sticky/slippery feeling on the decorative rocks before. Maybe their collisions have changed when we re-exported them too - same cause as fences).
I'll look into that too.
Thanks for the report

A lot of people(including me) on servers saying that the grappling hook often don´t work after the wood parts(the sliding ones). Maybe you can take a look at this, it´s very annoying sometimes. I have some vids about it, if you want one tell me;)

Another thing is that wj also have sometimes a strange behavior. It sometimes also don´t work the way you would expect it. Especially if you go fast at the wall (after a jumppad f.e.) it sometimes just not work.
There are lot of notes starting from my post 1 site ago about this, so hopefully you can read all these notes and take a look as well
