Post by fpsgnate »

Hey guys,

I am going to be interviewing Ubisoft this week so if there are any pressing questions that you have, feel free to jot them down here so that I can include them in my chat with them later this week. I'm going to to check back today on these questions and try to submit them tomorrow so leave them here when you think of something you'd like asked!

The interview will be going up at http://www.fpsgeneral.com so stay tuned!

I would ask them how do they enjoy working with Nadeo ^^

Good luck with the interview, by the way!

I would ask them:
Why 2 different formats for signs, in Shootmania vs TM2 ?
Is there gonna be some finetuning of TM2 stadium ?
Is there a outlook about blockmixing from the site of Nadeo?
Is TM1 gonna be gone after all this ?
Are the coppers gonna be transfered to TM2 as planets ? ( at a exchange rate offcourse )
Is a part of TM2 Stadium gonna be free to play ?
How about making custom blocks into excisting servers, without installing it in a different title ?
Are there gonna be Shootmania smilies in the forum ?

And i can ask 100 things or more, but this will do for now :P

( unless its to much about Nadeo :D )
If you think my English S*cks than you have to watch my driving and shooting :P

I should specify that the interview is going to focus on ShootMania: Storm as its for a first-person shooter blog that Curse.com runs :)

-will there be more integration with steam ( friends , joining a server , etc )
-Any news about Cryo? Because now all maps have the same look and its getting dull.
-Will there be a skineditor ingame?
-Will they add new stuff to the game before it releases ( this could be anything ) or are they just finetuning everything to get the game ready.

The last question is probably the best.

Here's two questions:

Now that IPL6 is officially cancelled, how do they see the future of Shootmania regarding big tournaments?
- And are they gonna keep supporting the game to get it going before it can stand on it's own two feet in terms of esport/tournaments?

  • A backstory on how Nadeo and Ubi hooked up would be nice.
  • The official release of Shootmania has been pushed back from the original announcement. How has this affected your company and its marketing strategy? Has this been a good thing for you, or has it presented additional challenges.
  • A decade ago, PC FPS games such as Unreal Tournament and Quake were all the rage, and most ESports "celebrities" hailed from this genre. Now, it seems that a large chunk of competitive gamers have gone the way of the console, and those that remain have migrated to other gametypes. (League of Legends, Starcraft, etc.) Do you think Shootmania has the potential to put the PC Arena Shooter back on the "big stage" and pull some of those players back in?
  • Though Shootmania is still in beta, and the community is still somewhat small, it's players are dedicated and are really pushing for it to succeed. I know that Ubisoft WANTS Shootmania to succeed... what can the community do to help?
I may add more if I think of anything else.

What are Nadeo's plans to market this game? How will they attract more players?

You mean Ubisoft? It could be different regarding the territory

Keep in mind that there is a possiblity that your questions about the development could not be answered by Ubisoft (like if there will be a skineditor or upcoming features for ManiaPlanet) :)
