It's about time to...
...sort servers by population, regardless of respective "skill level". I wonder just how many people have no clue that behind the pages and pages of 1-player servers are actually two more groups of fully populated servers.

they will go there themselves if the first-page servers are full

No, they won't.TMarc wrote:they will go there themselves if the first-page servers are full
You're looking at a server list. It starts at 50 players and goes down. There is a long tail of pages and pages of 1 player servers. Why the holy hell would anyone expect there to be a ton of full servers behind all that? The first 30 pages lead you to believe the servers are sorted by player count.
This is a bit of misleading UI and may give the impression that there are far fewer [~1/3] people playing online than there really are. At least one video review on a major game site fell for this trap (and the "world region" trap, but at least that one is user error) and concluded no one was playing the game. Grats.
My God is a vengeful God.

agreed, just one of many interface issues that should be improved! who cares about rank anyway
Rank doesn't mean anything regarding player skill, and there are different levels of ladder server for that purpose now anyway.

I agree that the server browser has a horrbile interface. What's wrong with having a standard server browser with a "region" dropdown menu at the top?

I prefer the old TM1 Server/Player Menu too .. less complicated. TM1 also starts with 'World' instead of some local area like 'Europe'. The 'World' setting with the most populated servers put first is definitely better.
