Not online[fixed]

Post by Perseus »

I can't get the game to run.

When I start the game through steam it says I'm not online. If looked it up and tried every suggested method of getting rid of it. Shutting down firewall, adding an exception, adding lines to the hostfile, running in compatibility mode and so on. Nothing. I can't seem to find a CD key anywhere. I tried offline mode, creating an account. That works, but when I load up the Canyon title, all I get is a blue screen with clouds. No option to go online from there. I really want to play this game.

I hope somebody can help me out.

Thanks for your reply. I dont have a Maniaplanet account. I bought it through steam, so shouldnt my profile be tied to my steam account? Thats what I read atleast. The game just doesn't connect to the server and it doesn't show the game either. I tried adding the Stadium beta and that seems to show in the blue cloud menu. It's as if steam never actually gave me the game? Is there anyone else with the same problem?

Even though you bought the game through STEAM, you will still need a mania planet account.

STEAM simply installs the files, and allows you to launch the game with the STEAM overlay. I've yet to investigate whether STEAM integration goes as far as allowing you to follow friends into games or not.

That aside, you can put STEAM into off-line mode and TM will still attempt to connect to the master server and authenticate your profile/account.

Yes, but there is no way to create the account online, because it won't connect to anything. I can create profiles but I can't create an account. It keeps saying I'm not connected to the internet, but I am.

Did you try to look if Internet Explorer is allowing connection to the internet?

This is one of the most errors: IE in offline mode blocks ManiaPlanet.

Why?
Because ManiaPlanet simply uses the IE settings.

We'll I'll be damned. That seemed to have done the trick! Now I get what the other fellow was talking about. Strange; I never use IE as a browser or anything.

Thanks a million guys!
