Purchased Canyon on steam, key already used??[fixed]

I have gotten Trackmania Canyon on steam and applied it to my sons account yesterday, downloaded it and tried to do the initial setup this morning, only to be told "Account creation failed, key already used: Error" when i try to create an account.

This game comes from steam how can the key possibly be used? im not sure if this is the correct place to report this, but i didnt know where else to report the issue.

Now im trying to install Stadium and its giving me the same error what is going on???????????
i have both games on my steam account at home and they work perfectly. this is baffling. please help asap.

What do mean by "applied to your sons account"? To his Steam account or to his Maniaplanet account if he already has one?
How did you exactly proceed with the purchase? Did you purchase it as gift dedicated to your son via Steam?
Or did you purchase it for yourself in the first time?

Do you also have an own Steam account, and an own ManiaPlanet account?

Do you have the key visible in on of the Steam accounts? Is it in yours or in your son's account?

At least with the public betas of Storm and Stadium, it appears the keys are not there as the games are directly activated by Steam, and the players only get a validation code.
I hope it is not the same for Canyon.

My son has a steam account, i have sent him the gift to his steam account, activated it on the account, downloaded the setup files and while im trying to register with trackmania it is giving me the key already used error.

He does not have a trackmania account, and due to this key error, still does not have one.

I cannot see the keys for the game by right clicking on the game in my library

On my account at my place i done exactly the same setup, when i registered my account with trackmania everything simply worked.

Very strange. I would recommend you to contact the Steam support, and to see what Nadeo writes tomorrow or latest next week here

well this is at the very least frustrating and disappointing, ill try steam support, any other time i have submitted an issue it takes days to get a reply.

And i just realised my son logged into my account to play one of the games he doesnt have on his earlier, so i have been trying to re-register my own key.
The beauty of impatient kids!!!!!!

Just logged into his account and registration has worked, my son is sitting here beside me waiting, yes you can see me typing, this is your own fault. Problem resolved
