No not 2 cams! Only one set to internal in the first clip before the loop. The second one should be totaly empty.

I can't reproduce this. Num lock on or off doesn't make any difference. Cams still change as expected both with num lock on and off.

Vacuum your keyboard there might be crisp, biscuits or some other game playing junk food stuck down there causing cam changes :roflol:

I completely agree with the rant. I hate view changes and its horrific if you use bumper cam like I always do. I see no value to these forced view changes other than to infuriate me. Ultimately it means I ended up binding a button on my game pad just for the bumper view and that's all it does. I mash it constantly while I'm gaming, I shouldn't have to do that to enjoy a level.

Bumperview is internal right? As in cam3 right?
I'm starting to think people force a different cam at the end of the loop in stead of an empty clip.

Yes cam3 is internal and im thinking the same thing or.... they are trying to use a timer to stop the first clip which is just silly..empty clip only when coming out of loops is the only way but I always end up looking down at the car unless I place the empty clip 3 or 4 blocks after the loop

That's the impression I got too. That's a very silly thing to do, when like you said putting an empty clip at the end with no FX whatsoever will return you to whatever view you were in before without any hassle. I would have thought that that's what this thread was about, but I've only ever played one map in all of TM where the author did that instead of doing the cams properly (I use a more unusual 3rd person cam -- actually I use two different 3rd person cams and switch between them sort of randomly -- so I'd probably notice if one of those cameras was forced) and it was only one track so I was all, whatever, there are plenty of other tracks for me to play. I go onto TM- and mania-exchange pretty regularly to download new maps so I'm not sure what tracks you're playing... but it seems some track authors need to vastly improve their mediatracker practises.

I mean, someone who always raced internal cam isn't even going to notice that it's usually forced for loops and wallrides to help improve your aim on those tricky parts, are they? So I wasn't sure what this thread was even about at first :P.

BTW if a timer was used to stop the first clip and the clip didn't actually change what camera you were using (the clip changed the camera from cam3 to cam3), the timer shouldn't do anything at all either (it would change the camera from cam3 back to cam3 -- still no difference :P). If the timer did that it would be a bug in the mediatracker.

Anyway, next time one of you guys has this happen to you, take down the track name and author, go to maniaexchange and ask them how they did that mediatracker. If you don't have a maniaexchange account and you don't want to make one let me know and I'll see if I can find time to go ask them. Either way one of us will soon have some findings to report that might start getting us somewhere.
(You might want to let me know via PM if you want me to do it, I don't come to the Maniaplanet forums as often as I'd like.)

Sry for the double post, but I've discovered some potentially useful information.
There is a bug in the conversion of old TMN - TMNF maps to TM2 which causes mediatracker that should change the camera to internal cam (cam 3, the one that you guys use) to change the camera instead to cam 1 or cam 2. From what I heard it happens sort of randomly.
So on these old tracks, instead of changing to camera 3 on loops like the game's supposed to (which wouldn't be a camera change at all for you guys), it changes to camera 1 or camera 2.
This is probably what's happening that you're complaining about. The good news is, once the bug is fixed the old FS tracks can get converted again and the problem will be gone.

The post where I found this is on page 26 of this thread: http://forum.maniaplanet.com/viewtopic. ... 88#p151288

Forced camera views are jarring and personally make me extremely dizzy because of vertigo.

I won't be able to buy this game unless we have an option to override track forced cams.

This is in fact a conversion bug and already has been reported numerous times already.
(if a track has any other cam beside camera race it messes up the view and sends you to 3rd person view in loops/wallrides rather than the intended camera internal)
So in short: fault is at server admins and partly due to stadium beta.
heh blinne :) exactly thats what messes up cams ... proccessing maps from old TMNF... but it isnt serveradmins fault...
how would you proccess map in ingame editor if its with password ? only way is batch command...
or wait until they mappers update maps :)
