Steam error?

So if got trackmania 2 canyon yesterday via maniaplanet when i want to use the key on steam it wont register
cuz now i cant play with my friends on steam --__--
fix?

Again, as written in many other threads already, Steam is activating automatically the key, so there is no need to register it additionally
