If i remember well, the final release (i mean the non beta release) of Storm is supposed to come soon, and there are also Stadium in open beta, and Valley is supposed to come in beta soon too... I would not expect that Hylis will give to xbx time to work on the dedicated in next days except to add or fix functionalities against the client game, or bugs which prevent the dedicated to run. So except if he find the memory problems bug without spending lot of time, i would not expect that bug to be fixed very soon, especially with such bug which can be very difficult to find.

I think xbx reads this thread too, but it's easier for Nadeo to track defect reports if we do it the way we've asked, as Bueddl suggested.

They might even have an auto-notifier set up for when reports are submitted this way. So if you want to make sure your request is considered, post it in the way Nadeo has asked.

Eh.. xbx certainly knows.. No point bothering bring it up -- we have the bug report thread, and it's not like you and me #####ing in the days of TMCanyon ever hastened any fix.

We just have to wait until SMStorm is done, TMValley's beta starts, and hundreds of other more prevalent and easily noticed bugs are fixed.. a mem leak on a linux ded server, that a player never sees, is not considered a big issue.

Actually.. I was trying to subtly mention how this all happened before, and how long it took to fix then.. I hope that's certainly no precadent, hehe..

On a brighter note, I haven't had as much evidence of a memleak lately.. The server's been using a steady 250-300mb the last few days (admittedly, been slow.. spent most of the time filing complaints with my server provider, along with their network provider, to resolve latency issues). Though, forgot to start up my logger..

I would even dare say it's not a matter of it not being a high priority. If your memory usage goes up that high, processes, including the dedicated server slow down... so users will see it and feel its effects and will get frustrated. So I would imagine it's a high priority issue; it's just really hard to track down where the leak occurs...

I wonder if the best thing you could do to help is provide a copy of a VM that exhibits the behavior that maybe they can debug against? PM xbx and ask if that would be useful (or post it as a reply in your thread that covers the defect.)

Good luck! Sorry it's happening for you all that run the server on *nix operating systems. You guys are supposed to be getting better performance than we lowly Windows server guys. :roflol:

BTW, have you all tried hosting ShootMania on the same servers having the problem to see if it also occurs for those modes? If so, I would think that would kick up the priority even higher.

No, it is not that hard. I already did a disasselbly and figured out the mal coded sections

I already did so, but did not get even an answere of XBX, not even once ;-)

Yes it does. Hosting both games and have the same problem. Also killermania (mark) has these issues since a long time!

So this is high rpiority, and with the right freeware tools it is not even hard to detect them. sad that this has not been done yet :-(

no way guys, this is not high priority!!!

i don´t care as much anymore about it, but it sucks to have only one server possible, where 10 tmuf are possible.
