[TM2] Key - Requires steam :s[fixed]

I just bought TM2 canyon through steam. When i try to activate the steam provided key after booting it up (right click tm2, show cd key beforehand) it says "Key Registration failed, this game requires steam"!

The account i am trying to register it on is the same one i created to use the 3 day pass i got free with a graphics card. Any solutions to this issue?

Also i have got an account for TM Nations Forever, can that be used in tm2? as when i try to it says player does not exist. No worries if it can't be used, just would of been nice to do so

On another note, i assume when stadium is officially released i will have to purchase that separately?

It says that you have to connect to your ManiaPlanet account at least once through Steam to activate the title (as you bought it on Steam).

Else you can't use a TrackMania Forever directly on ManiaPlanet, it's not the same platform (but you can try to create one with the same login)

And about Stadium, you can add it on your ManiaPlanet account but you'll have to buy it separately.

By connect through steam i assume you mean start the game through steam and login? If so that is what i am doing, step by step is below:

Launch through Steam
Login to maniaplanet
Select Canyon
Load Canyon
Enter Key
Key Registration Failed

I did load the stadium beta first by accident if thats an issue?

Do you launch directly Canyon with Steam ? Normally there is an auto-registration of the key on your ManiaPlanet account on the first launch of the title through Steam.

Which login are you using for Canyon?
Is Stadium working fine? Please try that login in Canyon then...

If you have your key (not the 5-character validation key!), you can add it to your Stadium Profile in ManiaPlanet (http://player.maniaplanet.com), then start Stadium and select Canyon title there. It should restart the game, with Canyon then.

No idea why but it seems to have sorted itself out, not done anything different but it's working so thanks for the help
