[SM] You are not online

I just bought the game today and wanted to play and each time I launch the game it says you are not online please connect and when i click connect it goes into windowed mode and says the same thing. please help me.

Please search in the forum, this has happenend quite a few times before to others.

Where did you purchase the game?

Things to check:
- IE must be in online mode, not offline!
- firewall must be opened for the usual ManiaPlanet ports, please see also the Wiki
- servers mp05.maniaplanet.com and mp06.maniaplanet.com appear to have connection issues for some people, Nadeo is investigating this

Did you install the game as Administrator? This is necessary.
Check your Windows firewall settings and your antivirus as well. When you first launch the game, you should see a small box which warns about sharing/ connecting to other players etc - you need to allow this. If you didn't see this box, you will need to manually add ManiaPlanet to your Exceptions list in the firewall.

Also, antivirus programmes tend to block this programme after installation and updates.

I am also having this problem and I am not very good at fixing this, surely the game should just work? Keep getting "You are not online" Even though I blatently am :/
