Can mods be applied to the whole game?

Post by Xevious »

I like being able to apply mods to my own tracks, but is it possible to apply mods to the whole game?

I'm talking about mods that change the textures used in the game.

only the textures used while playing can be modified at the moment.
The menus can somehow be modified, but this is limited.

I probably should have expressed my question more clearly. I was not asking if mods could be applied to the menu and other features of the game. I was asking if a mod could be applied to all tracks in the game. In other words, I want to replace the default canyon mod with one downloaded from maniapark.

you can't do it in TM². in TMUF it was possible just by changing game files, but now all files are with signature (or smth like that) and are verified every time you start the game. so, no ):

yes, sorry for the unprecise answers earlier.

you can modifiy the the mood and the mod one one single map by holding down CTRL while loading it (this you certainly know alreay, it might be usefull to know for other readers here), but only if is not password protected!

Unfortunately there is no general mood setting applicable.
However, if it is that much important for you, you could turn this into a suggestion, either in a separate thread here or in the reports section of the forum.

Thanks for the info.
I guess Nadeo didn't want people to modify the files required to run the game.

yes, exact. They want the default files always to be OK, and the updater is checking this.
